On 24 June 2016, in partnership with Writers Guild of South Africa, Make It Happen Productions, Nghalamona Entertainment and Rhythm Cycle Projects and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, the SABC Ekurhuleni International Film Festival was launched at the O.R Tambo Recreational Centre in Wattville, Johannesburg.
Created with the aim of empowering local and international filmmakers by providing them with vital filmmaking skills and creating networking opportunities WGSA, on official partner of the festival, gave workshops about copyright, IPO and the art of script writing.
The SABC Ekurhuleni International Film Festival (EIFF) is an opportunity for all students from Colleges or Universities and independent producers. The purpose is to present their films to a large audience in Africa and the rest of the world. It’s a celebration of our local and international filmmakers.
Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films for the second annual edition of the Film Festival in the festivals website
